Quick look at the most impressive new features of the 2023 Honda CRF1100 Africa Twin

If you are looking for an adventure bike that is ready for any terrain, the new 2023 Honda CRF1100 Africa Twin is perfect. Here are five features of this impressive all-terrain motorcycle that stand out and ensure impressive performance.

A proven engine

The CRF1100 Africa Twin is equipped with a 1,084 cc parallel-twin engine that packs a punch throughout the entire rev range. It starts hard from as low as 2,500 rpm and keeps going all the way up to the redline. A 270-degree phased crankshaft combined with an uneven firing interval gives it a unique sound and feel while producing powerful, consistent power on demand. Immediate response is guaranteed regardless of the engine's position in its range.

Choose the right gearbox for you

With the Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES, you can choose between a reliable six-speed manual gearbox and an advanced, auto shifting, six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The latter comes with four automatic modes that can be adjusted to suit riding style or terrain and a manual mode that enables you to shift gears using left handlebar triggers. You even have the option of overriding the automatic settings anytime you wish by manually selecting gears.

Customized riding modes

The Africa Twin is equipped with four preloaded riding modes—Tour, Urban, Gravel, and Off-Road—as well as two fully customizable User modes that can be tailored to your specific needs. These preset power delivery, engine braking, ABS settings, and HSTC torque control for optimum performance in any environment.

Stability in any situation

DCT models of the Africa Twin come with an advanced six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), which allows for cornering and incline detection. This IMU can identify when you are cornering or riding on a steep incline, and it will adjust the gear shift pattern to provide enhanced control and smoother gear shifts.

Smooth power delivery

The Africa Twin is fitted with an aluminum clutch centre and pressure plate featuring assist cams, which facilitate upshifts, as well as slipper cams, which prevent wheel lock-up during deceleration and downshifting.

Control your torque

The Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system gives you the freedom to choose from seven levels of torque control and an off setting. By utilizing the IMU, this system can accurately detect when the rear-wheel starts to slip out, and it will seamlessly modulate torque control to keep you in that optimal zone during acceleration.
